Can West Brom edge closer to the play-offs on Friday night?

It was a huge win for West Brom last weekend as they beat Middlesbrough. It ending a mini-run of three without victory, and it means they head into Friday night’s trip to the MKM Stadium six points off the top six.

Hull briefly flirted with an unlikely surge into the play-off shake-up, but four without a win has seen them progress under Liam Rosenior halted. The goals have dried up and they need to get back on the horse. Can they do that against the Baggies?

Double header on Saturday lunchtime

Blackburn Rovers vs Sheffield United

There is double the fun from the Championship at lunchtime on Saturday.

Blackburn have won three on the bounce in the league to reinvigorate their promotion challenge, and shocked Leicester in the FA Cup in midweek. They could close the gap on Sheffield United in second to six points, albeit with the Blades still having a game in hand.

The Blades enjoyed a Cup success of their own in midweek, and will be full of confidence after beating Tottenham. This should be a high quality clash between two in-form sides.

It is live on Sky Sports Football from midday on Saturday. Kick-off is at 12.30pm.

Should you fancy your action to be a bit more of the Severnside variety, then you can hit the Red Button instead to take in Cardiff vs Bristol City.

Cardiff are just four points clear of the entire bottom three heading into the weekend and badly need a win, but run into rivals Bristol City in good form. Nigel Pearson’s side may have come unstuck against Manchester City in midweek, but they are unbeaten in nine in the Championship.
