The Northern Lebanon Vikings pulled off a remarkable comeback victory on Tuesday against the Tri-Valley Bulldogs, winning 7-6 in a closely fought game. The Vikings took the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning when Hollenbach hit a single on a 1-2 count, scoring the winning run.
Despite being down 6-1 after the third inning, Northern Lebanon showed incredible resilience and determination, chipping away at Tri-Valley’s lead. NL got on the board in the second inning when Kubica doubled on a 0-1 count, driving in one run. They then scored four runs in the fifth inning with Hollenbach, Shutter, and Ritche all contributing RBI’s in the frame.
Pitcher Mauser started the game for NL, but struggled in the early innings, giving up six runs on five hits over four innings. However, the team’s defense improved as the game went on, with Mauser’s replacement shutting down Tri-Valley for the remainder of the game.
NL managed to rack up eight hits, with Shutter and Hollenbach each delivering multiple hits, including the crucial game-winning hit by Hollenbach in the sixth inning.
