Retired Driver Faces Injury on Opening Night

Driver Brian Marriott suffered a serious injury during the opening night at Linda’s Speedway. Marriott, who was set to retire last year, had returned to the track this season to field this car a few times. The reason for his retirement was his business picking up, but the opportunity to race without the daunting garage time was too good for him to pass up. Marriott is a former feature winner at Linda’s and is no stranger to nasty accidents, having raced motocross for many years.

Unfortunately, Marriott’s return to the track was short-lived after he sustained a crushed vertebrae in his back during a race on opening night. The accident was severe enough that Marriott had to be taken to the hospital and was likely going to undergo surgery later the following night.

Marriott’s injury is a stark reminder of the risks associated with racing, but it also highlights the passion and dedication that drivers have for the sport. Despite his retirement plans, Marriott couldn’t resist the opportunity to race once again and pursue his passion.

As Marriott recovers from his injuries, the racing community will undoubtedly come together to support him in any way possible. His contributions to the sport and his fighting spirit serve as an inspiration to all those who know him. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him back on the track soon.
