School Board Meeting Announces NL Takeover Day With Lancaster Barnstormers

The Northern Lebanon School District hosted a School Board meeting on February 14th, and there were several pressing issues discussed at the meeting. One of the most exciting topics discussed was the upcoming NL takeover event that the school is partnering with the Lancaster Barnstormers to host. This event is an attempt to grow community relations, and it promises to be a lot of fun.

As part of the NL takeover event, the school will be giving away a free ticket to every staff member and student on June 3rd. This is a great opportunity for the school community to come together and enjoy a fun event while building relationships with each other.

In addition to giving away free tickets, the school will also have free range of running concessions or ushering, anything short of playing on the field. This is a great opportunity for the school to get involved in the community and show what it has to offer.

During the meeting, every department budget was submitted and is going to be reviewed by the board for acceptance. All the budgets are level with two departments with expected increases. This is an important process, as it helps to ensure that the school is using its resources effectively and efficiently to provide the best possible education to its students.

Another topic discussed at the meeting was the appraisals for Lickdale Elementary and East Hanover Elementary. The appraisal for Lickdale Elementary is 2.3 million dollars, and East Hanover Elementary has been appraised for 2.1 million dollars. The board will accept these appraisals as a combined total is better than what was originally expected and told. This is great news for the school district, as they begin to plan what these building will be used for.

Finally, the winter sports program raised money for a Lebanon High School student who has a brain tumor. They raised over $4,000 in total to gift to the family to help with treatment and other costs for this young gentleman’s recovery. This is an excellent example of the kind of community spirit that exists in the Northern Lebanon School District.
