Spanky’s Custom Tattoos Brings Artistic Flair to Jonestown’s Small Business Scene!
The small business scene in Jonestown has recently expanded with the addition of a new tattoo shop, Spanky’s Custom Tattoos. The tattoo shop is located at 30 Hill Dr in Jonestown located right off 22 near Jono Hardware. The owner, known as “Spanky”, has been tattooing for over 13 years and has already gained a reputation for his exceptional work.
Spanky has had an interesting career path, with titles ranging from fraternity brother to auto mechanic. However, his passion for tattooing has always been a constant. After managing Pitt’s Garage in Lebanon for 8 years, he decided to throw in the hat, sell the family business, and move to Jonestown to pursue his dream of running a tattoo shop.
When he approached the township with his idea of opening a tattoo shop, he was informed that as long as it was under 25% of his living quarters, he was allowed to run the business. After being approved, Spanky has been able to cater to a new market in the area, including military personnel and warehouse workers. His clients come from all over the east coast, the midwest, and even Alaska, all seeking his unique artwork.
One of the things that sets Spanky apart is his dedication to producing a masterpiece with every tattoo. He specializes in a variety of art styles, including realism, portraits, and black-and-grey. He has even been deemed the “dark-skin artist” for his ability to perform great artwork on darker skin tones while ensuring his clients feel comfortable and safe in his shop.
Spanky takes pride in not only his work but also his affordable prices. “I want people to leave with the best possible tattoo they can get.” Spankly told Nl Bulletin. “If I can get someone to allow me to give them a nice piece of artwork, I don’t want to do tattoos, I want to do a masterpiece. You can get a tattoo anywhere. When you come to me, you’re getting a work of art.” He believes that his customers are his walking canvases and that word-of-mouth is his number one promotional tool. His previous customers rave about his quality of work and his ability to create one-of-a-kind pieces.
As a self-taught artist, Spanky has been experimenting with different mediums and techniques his whole life. He considers his customers to be the ultimate canvas for his artwork and strives to create a masterpiece with every piece he creates. He is even eager to help NL Bulletin with future projects to come.
To check out Spanky’s work, you can find him on Instagram and TikTok or on Facebook at “Spanky’s Custom.” He accepts walk-ins and appointments and is ready to take on any challenge that his clients may present. Jonestown is excited to welcome Spanky’s Custom Tattoos to their growing small business community.
