Jonestown Block Party Sets Family Friendly Limit on Block Party Participants
The Jonestown Borough council met on Tuesday, March 7th, for a quick meeting where they discussed the upcoming block party and a road sealing project.
The meeting was attended by block party coordinator, Audrey Shutter, who brought up the issue of selling CBD products at the event. After some discussion, the council came to the decision that the sale of CBD products would not be appropriate for a family-friendly event and denied approval. Mayor Quairoli received approval from the council to submit their road closure application for the block party on May 27th. The streets will be closed from 1pm to 10pm, with the expectation that they will be reopened around 9pm that night.
The council also discussed a road sealing project that was initially scheduled for April but was pushed back to next year due to pending surveys and other matters that need to be addressed before the project can move forward. The affected roads are Rose Lane, West Swatara, and North Broad.
In other news, the borough council will be attending Russ Diamond’s open house on March 16th from 4pm-7pm. They plan to welcome Diamond to the community with a personalized plaque and encourage community members to attend the event and show their support for the Northern Lebanon native’s return to the area.
