Cookies, Cupcakes & More: Jonestown’s Favorite Bakery Celebrates First Anniversary

Jonestown’s Cookies, Cupcakes & More, located at 157 E Market Street, bakery is turning one year old, and owner Jenny Patteson couldn’t be happier with the success of her small business. With an array of delicious baked goods, Patteson has experienced the highs and lows of running her own business in her first year.

Patteson officially opened her doors on March 11th, 2022, fulfilling a lifelong dream of owning a bakery. “This has been a dream of mine for 30 years,” Patteson said. “My grandma had her own catering business, and I always wanted to keep that family tradition alive.”

The grand opening of Cookies, Cupcakes, & More was met with a snowstorm, but that didn’t stop customers from lining up outside the shop. With help from Facebook advertisements and flyers, Patteson’s baked goods were an instant hit. “We had people waiting in line, people were waiting outside, it was nuts!” Patteson recalled.

Patteson’s recipes are made from scratch and include old family traditions. She offers a wide variety of baked goods, including her best-selling apple dumplings and the famous Death by Chocolate brownie. She stays up-to-date with the latest flavors and trends and always looks to expand her inventory and flavor options.

Holidays have been especially successful for the bakery, with Thanksgiving week being her highest selling and busiest week, with over 90 pies ordered in a single week. Additionally, she has offered specials for Valentine’s Day and is producing a mint special for St. Patrick’s Day.

Patteson plans to continue experimenting with new flavors and recipes and to gain more foot traffic within the store. She has done multiple events catering anywhere from 300 – 1,600 products for a single event. She also plans to continue interacting with the community and events and providing a trusted bakery and source.

To celebrate her one-year anniversary, Patteson is holding an in-store event on March 11th. She will be offering free samples, a variety of products, and even a raffle to win something special. Patteson and NL Bulletin also plan on hosting specials for kids together, including opportunities for kids to earn a free fresh-baked cookie.

Overall, Patteson has created a special place in Jonestown where people can come and indulge in some delicious baked goods made with love and family traditions. Her passion and dedication to her craft have made Cookies, Cupcakes & More a local favorite in Jonestown, and we can’t wait to see what she has in store for the future.
