The Swatara Township Board of Supervisors convened on June 8th for their regular meeting, where several key decisions were made regarding the upcoming August 26th event and a digitization proposal by Higher Information Group.

During the Recreation Board report, it was announced that planning for the August 26th event is well underway. However, it was also revealed that expenditures for the event are surpassing the allocated budget allowances. In response to this, Supervisor Patches proposed allocating an additional $3,000 for the Music Festival, which was seconded by Supervisor Bering. The aim is to ensure that the event is adequately funded and can provide an enjoyable experience for all attendees.

Furthermore, Supervisor Patches moved to approve an advertising budget of up to $250 for promoting the Music Festival in the Merchandiser, a popular local publication. This decision was also seconded by Supervisor Bering. By investing in advertising, the township hopes to generate greater awareness and attract a larger audience to the festival.

In a separate matter, Supervisor Kreitzer proposed authorizing an agreement with Higher Information Group to digitize the plan files, starting with the current plans. The proposal suggests allocating up to $5,000 for this purpose. The digitization of plan files would streamline access and retrieval, making it easier for the township to manage and update crucial documents. Supervisor Patches seconded this motion, emphasizing the potential benefits of the digitization proposal.

These decisions were made with the aim of enhancing the recreational offerings within Swatara Township and improving overall efficiency in administrative tasks. The Board of Supervisors is committed to providing enjoyable community events while implementing modern solutions to better serve residents.
The rescheduled August meeting of the Recreation Board will now take place on the 21st of August. This adjustment is likely to accommodate the planning and preparation for the upcoming Music Festival. The Recreation Board will utilize this meeting to further discuss event logistics and ensure all necessary arrangements are in place.
