Marian and Friends Bring Laughter and Joy to Lickdale

Trinity United Methodist Church in Lickdale, Pennsylvania was filled with laughter and joy on March 19th as Marian and her puppet pals performed for the community. The packed house was full of children, eagerly watching as Marian shared the story of David and Goliath through her ventriloquist act.

Marian’s interest in ventriloquism began at a young age, when her mother purchased a ventriloquist figure for her to practice with. She quickly began performing shows for birthday parties, churches, and senior citizen groups. Her passion for ventriloquism continued throughout high school and college, where she found it useful for presentations and during her student teaching assignments. Marian earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Special and Elementary Education and later earned her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. For 11 years, she worked as a public school teacher in Pennsylvania, using puppets to teach and encourage her students.

Today, Marian devotes herself to her family and her growing ventriloquist business. She travels to a variety of venues, including school assemblies, festivals, churches, and private and corporate events. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she used her gift of ventriloquism to reach out to families in quarantine. She sent out birthday wishes to kids and adults, taught virtual ventriloquism lessons to children interested in the craft, and started a YouTube channel called Chatting with Chester.

Marian’s performances are always a hit with both children and adults. Her shows feature a variety of characters, from soft-sculpture puppets to a life-sized ostrich to a talking drawing board. Her humorous stories and songs keep the audience laughing and engaged throughout the performance.

Marian and her husband reside in Pennsylvania with their children. Marian’s passion for ventriloquism and her dedication to sharing it with others make her a true asset to the community. Her performance at Trinity United Methodist Church was just one example of the joy and laughter she brings to those around her.
