On a night dedicated to honoring the brave men and women who serve our country, the Northern Lebanon Vikings claimed a victory against Lancaster Catholic with a final score of 5-3. Spectators showed their support by donning patriotic colors of red, white, and blue at the game.
Lancaster Catholic got off to a quick start, scoring a run in the first inning thanks to a wild pitch by NL’s Mauser. However, the Northern Lebanon Vikings responded strongly in the fourth inning, scoring five runs to take the lead for good. An error, two singles, and a walk all contributed to the NL’s scoring spree.
Mauser, the winning pitcher for NL, was dominant on the mound, throwing seven innings and striking out an impressive 13 batters. Detz, Lancaster Catholic’s pitcher, struggled to contain the NL offense, giving up five runs on six hits in six innings.
Northern Lebanon saw the ball well throughout the game, collecting six hits in total. Hollenbach and Mauser both had multiple hits, with each player managing two hits apiece.
