Northern Lebanon Vikings Rout Columbia with Dominant 18-2 Victory

On Monday, April 10th, the Northern Lebanon Viking boys baseball team secured a resounding 18-2 victory over Columbia. NL took an early lead in the first inning thanks to a triple by McQuaide and a single by Gonzalez, and they never looked back.

The Viking’s offense was relentless, with NL putting up an impressive eight runs in the second inning. Ecenroad and Gonzalez both hit doubles, while McQuaide walked and Byerly hit a single. Messinger’s groundout and McQuaide’s fielder’s choice also contributed to the NL Viking’s massive second-inning lead.

However, it wasn’t just the NL offense that shone on the day. Walmer, NL’s starting pitcher, proved to be the winning pitcher. He lasted five innings, allowing only three hits and one run while striking out ten. Walmer’s performance was nothing short of stellar, showcasing his poise and control on the mound.

In contrast, Columbia’s pitcher, Paules, struggled to contain NL’s impressive offense, surrendering ten runs on nine hits over two innings. The NL batters were able to consistently get hits off of Paules, leading to his early removal from the game.

The NL Viking’s dominance continued throughout the game, with the team tallying 12 hits in total. Lowen, Byerly, and M. Gonzalez all had multiple hits, each collecting two hits. This balanced attack ensured that the Vikings were always in control of the game and never let up until the final out was recorded.

With this decisive victory, the Northern Lebanon Viking boys baseball team continues to showcase their skill and determination on the field. Their impressive performance on Monday serves as a testament to the hard work and dedication put in by the players and coaching staff. The Vikings are a force to be reckoned with in the league and will undoubtedly continue to make waves in the coming games.
