Northern Lebanon Vikings Suffer Heartbreaking Loss to Pequea Valley

In a closely contested baseball game on Wednesday, April 12th, the Northern Lebanon Vikings faced off against the Pequea Valley Braves. Despite putting up a valiant effort, the Vikings ultimately fell to the Braves 5-4 on the final play of the game.

The game was tied at four going into the bottom of the seventh inning, with both teams fighting to come out on top. It was Pequea Valley who ultimately prevailed, with Smucker delivering a clutch hit on a 2-0 count to score the winning run.

The Braves got their offense started in the first inning, with Smucker’s sacrifice fly scoring one run for Pequea Valley. Northern Lebanon responded in the sixth inning with a rally led by Fegley’s single, Ecenroad’s fielder’s choice, and A Gonzalez’s double, which resulted in three runs for the Vikings.

Bicksler started the game for Northern Lebanon, surrendering just one run on three hits over five innings while striking out two and walking one. Richard came in for relief, throwing one and one third innings.

Fegley led Northern Lebanon with two hits in three at-bats, showcasing his skills at the plate. On the other side of the field, Pequea Valley’s Temple and Smucker each had multiple hits, with Temple going a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate.

Despite the loss, Northern Lebanon’s effort was commendable. Both teams played hard and provided an entertaining game for fans in attendance. Pequea Valley’s victory was well-deserved, but Northern Lebanon should be proud of their performance.

Overall, the game between Northern Lebanon and Pequea Valley was an exciting matchup for both teams and their fans. With both teams displaying impressive performances, it’s clear that they both have the potential to go far this season.
