Tractor-Trailer Crash on I-81 Near Grantville Prompts Emergency Response

In the early hours of September 1, a tractor-trailer accident brought traffic on the northbound lanes of Interstate 81 to a standstill near Exit 80/Route 743 for Grantville. Authorities responded swiftly to the scene, with the Pennsylvania State Police, fire police, and the Grantville Volunteer Fire Company all called in to manage the situation.

The incident occurred at approximately 1 a.m., though the details of the crash remain under investigation. Authorities have not yet released information regarding the number of vehicles involved or if any injuries were sustained during the collision.

Motorists traveling on I-81 faced significant delays as emergency crews worked diligently to clear the wreckage and assess the situation. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) reported that the highway was finally reopened around 4:30 a.m., allowing traffic to resume its normal flow.
