The Northern Lebanon Vikings baseball team secured a big win over Annville-Cleona on Friday, April 14th. With a final score of 10-1, the Vikings showed their strength both offensively and defensively.
NL opened up the scoring early in the game, with Fegley hitting a single on a 1-2 count that scored two runs in the first inning. The team continued to build on this lead, scoring runs in the fourth and fifth innings, and then putting the game away with three more runs in the sixth inning. Byerly, Richard, and Gonzalez were instrumental in this offensive onslaught, each knocking in runs in the inning.
A. Gonzalez was the starting pitcher for the Vikings and he delivered a strong performance. He lasted seven innings, allowing only four hits and one run while striking out four and walking just one. Gonzalez’s pitching was a key factor in the team’s victory, as he kept Annville-Cleona’s offense under control for the majority of the game.
NL’s batters also had an impressive showing, racking up 12 hits in the game. A. Gonzalez, M. Gonzalez, and Voight each managed two hits to lead NL for the day. The team saw the ball well throughout the game, with multiple players contributing to the hit total.
Overall, it was a dominant performance by the Northern Lebanon Vikings. Their offense was firing on all cylinders, and A. Gonzalez’s pitching was virtually untouchable. The win improves their record to 6-2 on the season, and they will look to build on this momentum in their next game.
