Opinion: What’s the best way to take RMDs from retirement funds? Experts rate 3 options.

Dear Fix My Portfolio,

I’m a retired educator, and turned 72 in 2022. I’m starting taking my required minimum distributions. I don’t need the full amount, but I guess I have to take it anyway. I don’t know when the best time is to take the RMDs. Is it best to take it all at once at the end of the year? Or should I take it monthly throughout the year?
